First..armor and leather is wonderful when you are sliding on a closed race track at 80-100 mph headed for some hay bails. On the street, the rider's enemy is BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA. The thing you hit before you stop sliding is coming very quickly and that is what hurts you. Bind yourself up in one of those 3 inch thick ballistic nylon gorilla suits if you want. I want protection from wind sun and rain and a degree of comfort allowing me a clear head. I will take the Barbour jacket for style -utility and comfort.
